How can I put my activation code on a free trial?

I dont know how to put my activation code on my free trial, I downloaded a student version of 3ds MAX, but it didn't asked me for any activation code. I assume it is a free trial for 30 days. 

Can someone help me by telling me how can I activate my program?

If you're a student, then your license would be free for 3 years. If you signed into any of the applications (or Autodesk Desktop App) your activation is may already be in use.

Go to Help > About > Product Information
That will tell you what type of license you're using.
