Help with Network License File

Hi I'm a technician at a school district. I was able to get a free for educational use AutoCAD product key for a network license file up to 3,000 users. It says it's good for 3 years. I have a AutoCAD deployment ready and can install AutoCAD to any of the PC's in our district, but I can't start AutoCAD because says it can't find the network license file.

I have tried following the instructions here:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/network-license-administration/get-ready-network-lic...

But when I log into my account I do not see a "Generate Network License File" option in my account. It's just not there. Is there any way I can get the license file so I can finish the setup of our AutoCAD server?

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Many schools are faced with this issue and it can only be resolved by the Autodesk Educational Support team https://www.autodesk.com/education/support/edu-contact-us-form

We the users of this forum have no way of fixing this and normal Autodesk (commercial) support will not touch this either and will re-direct your to the Educational Support Team.

One final thing..  The Educational Support team may be experiencing a back log of issues and it make take sometime to have this issue of yours resolved.

One more question..  In your Autodesk Account (related to the school), are you seeing the product you requested but it only shows a qty of 1?

When I log into my Account I don't see AutoCAD in my Products & Services tab. I have "AutoCAD - mobile app Premium for subscription" which says "student" underneath, so I don't think that's the version I need for network deployment.

I signed up for the educational license with this account, and they emailed me a link to my product key and the download for AutoCAD. So I wonder if the issue is that my product isn't linked to my account?

I sent a email to the educational support team. Thank you for your help.

Okay lets try something here..

Go to register once https://registeronce.autodesk.com/prodreg   Sign in with the correct info and enter the serial # that was assigned to you, select your schools account and follow the prompts..  Does it allow you to generate a license file?

Update:  Linked failed try this one https://registeronce.autodesk.com

It's asking for some server information.

It wants the host name, and I know that.

It also wants a "Server ID" and I have no clue what they want for this.

Server ID means physical address or the MAC address of the server.

Update:  Provided with no dashes.  Smiley Happy

Hello @jbauerURQJK

When you set up an educational account did you select the IT Admin role? Please review this article on how to properly set up an educational account to gain access to this account feature, Create an Education account.

The educational support team will go over this with you first, they would recommend creating another account, they can not adjust the account for you. I would ask if you can change the email or delete the account then create a new one so you can use the same email address.

Let us know how it goes.

It sounds like it but were you able to generate a license file based on the info regarding register once?

I registered and got the license file. Thank you!

* It also shows up in my "Products & Services" tab now, and I have the "Generate a License File" option in my account. It looks like I'm all set.

Glad to hear and help...  Sometimes words in a forum posting doesn't always paint the picture..  Once you clarified what you were actually seeing in your Autodesk Account, I then realized you needed to use the register once workflow.

Hello @jbauerURQJK

I am glad you reviewed my information & found this option in your Autodesk Account now. Thank you for coming back to let us know.

The link above offers information that describes how to set up a account & where to access this feature for IT Admins.
