Fusion 360 license management for all users on shared computer

Hello all,

I have read plenty of forum posts but I was unable to obtain a accurate answer.

We plan to install ONE Fusion 360 license on a SHARED computer, which multiple users can log in with their own Windows account and use Fusion 360. (Only one user will be using Fusion 360 at a time)

We are aware of the possibility to install Fusion 360 using the administrator executable (https://dl.appstreaming.autodesk.com/production/installers/Fusion%20360%20Admin%20Install.exe) so that all users can access Fusion 360.

The problem is, do we need to manually assign the license to each user when they need it, or the license will automatically assign itself (something like a floating point license)?

Thank you very much for your answers.

There is no "license will automatically assign itself" at Autodesk.

So you really only have the One Single Fusion license on that one PC?

Hi @pendean ,

Yes, we will have multiple users sharing the same computer remotely. And since they will not use Fusion 360 at the same time, one license should be sufficient.

At the current stage, the license is managed manually by our team administrator, who repetitively un-assign and re-assign the license to users who need it. We are looking for a solution to avoid all this hassle.

Thank you very much.

Autodesk wants all of us to assign a license to a single user. No wiggle room, no exceptions, no variation allowed. Auditing from them also forces the issue during discovery too.

Now you just have to figure out how to work within those very limited narrow parameters.

Contact your reseller to confirm all of this and your options, if you don't have one then I suggest you get one, they are your go-to for things licensing and staying within the lines drawn by Autodesk https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller
