Our son has been using the student version of Maya for 7 years, for pleasure purposes only. He is no longer enrolled in an education program, so does not qualify for the student version. He is on a fixed disability income and brings in basically enough money to survive. He spends his days, 4-6 hours daily, creating on Maya, and now his student licence has expired. Is there an option for a non-commercial licence or any other means for him to obtain Maya other than paying $1700/yr?
I believe a Maya LT license is a lot cheaper. It has some restrictions and not all features are enabled, but for home non commercial use it may be ideal for you.
