Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Great question! Yes, you simply would just need to download the 2016 version from the education community!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your answer.
Did I have to uninstall Revit 2015 before ? Because it's not working when I try to upgrade it on the education community : I put my account informations and after I try to choose the version that I need but it's not possible.

Thank you !

Hi @Anonymous,

What happens when you choose the version? Is it just not downloading? Or not installing? Your screen should look like this prior to downloading.

Hi @967141,

Welcome to the community!

You can have both installed at the same time, as they are seperate programs.

What if I just want Revit 2016 to replace my Revit 2015.

I don't want both programs on my computer.

I am having a hard time finding information to clarify how to do this.

Nothing I search for has answered this question.

Sorry for the delay @himmellm, I was out of the office.

Yes, you can just use one and delete the other, just download the 2016 version from the website.

I'd like to do that, but I find that although I keep "installing" 2016 on
my computer, it is not showing up anywhere.
Lame.
[insert long and deleted rant here.]
The student version acts like it installs, but sure does not.
Now I'll go waste more time, again, trying to figure it out.
ArchiCAD never did this to me.

Hi @himmellm,

Apologies for that. This indicated there is either a problem with the file download or the install. Here is a few things to try to get you up and going:

  • Repair the install in under: Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Programs and Features
  • If it is not listed, try running the Microsoft FixIt Tool (unless this is Windows 10?)
  • If not resolved, perform a clean uninstall, disable your antivirus and installing from the virtual agent.
