Hi @info and @Anonymous and welcome to the Autodesk Community!

We are currently investigating this issue. Can you please try the following?

Verify if the file “AdAppMgrSvc.exe” is present in the following location.

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AppManager\R1

Should it be the case, attempt to restart the service from the services.

• Windows logo + R > services.msc > OK > search for “Autodesk Application Manager Service” > right-click > Start

Thank you!

1. AdAppMgrSvc.exe present, version 5.0.142.0

2. Service up and running, error persist

If i install AAM from C:\users\admin\documents\autodesk application manager\CU004156 once again it works, but after restart it doesn't

Hello

I´ve got the same problem with Autodesk Application Manager:

AAM-error.JPG

I´ve tried it with an administrator an a standard user account.

After ech reboot the notification comes again.

The requested Service "AdAppMgrSvc.exe" is still executed an running.

The problem occurs on different Os, e.g. Win 8.1 x64 Pro and Win 7 x64 SP1

with latest Updates from Microsoft Update.

I´ve changed the system language from German to English and back,

but it didn´t solve the issue...

My Systems Specification:

First Workstation:

Windows 8.1 x64 Professional

Inventor 2015 Professional Service Pack 2

Autodesk Application Manager 5.0.142.0

AMD Fire Pro V 4900

AMD FX 8350

32 GB RAM

Crucial MX 200 256 GB SSD for OS and Application

Second Workstation:

Windows 7 x64 SP1 Professional

Inventor 2015 Professional Service Pack 2

Autodesk Application Manager 5.0.142.0

AMD Fire Pro V 4900

Intel Core i7 4770

16 Gb RAM

Toshiba 128 GB SSD GB SSD for OS and Application

Are there other possible sources of error to investigate ?

It´s a big waste of time to repair such problems.

Find AAM in start menu, right mouse button click on shortcut and then run with administrator privileges. In this way AAM works okay, but on startup it throws this error.

Thanks for your post v.vasilev, this is useful information, AAM is working again. The error report will show up when restarting the computer, for now this solution is all right, waiting for a new update of AAM with a definitive solution.

Hi @Anonymous and welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Sure, let's add some clarification!

What you need to do is fully exit the Application Manager (it can be done from the system tray, by right-clicking the Application Manager icon and clicking on "Exit":

After that, find the Autodesk Application Manager on your Start Menu (Autodesk > Autodesk Application Manager), right-click it as select "Run as Administrator as shown here:

I hope this helps!

Solution :

In the windows search zone, find Autodesk Application Manager.

Right-clic, Open the folder.

Right-clic on the shortcut, Properties.

Compatibility Tab, check the "Run as admin" box.

Restart your computer. Adsk App Manager starts normally.

@Anonymous i guess this will ask for admin password in a domain controller if the user have limited privileges

Hi,

If the user has limited privileges, he doesn't has to install updates...
I'm afraid Autodesk products ofter ask to have high privileges.

This solution works on my PC.

Just hope it helps... and hope a fix will be quickly available !

Correctly, every time you start Windows the Admin password is requested from Application Manager.
I prefer to start the Application Manager manually to avoid this Request after each Boot of Windows.
But that can only be a temporary solution to this problem.

Hi,

Thanks for reply.

No password requested if you're admin.

Hope is a temporary solution too !
