I too have this problem (always autocad 2008) with a perpetual license.I don't think Autodesk's behavior is entirely correct on this matter.I paid a perpetual license and it must be for that product!They can't force me to pay for a new subscription.I don't think it's fair at all.
Yesterday in a chat with a friendly operator, the activation codes popped up and the problem seemed to be solved. Today, turning on the PC and AutoCAD asks me for the activation codes.
