AutoCad launch error 1606 on citrix VDI when Windows roaming profiles are used

Issue occurring on AutoCad Architecture 2016 and 2018 on Citrix Roaming Profile (Same as windows Roaming Profile) on Citrix Xendesktop 7.15 LTSR, Windows 10  version 1803.

Error 1606: Could not access network Location

\\server\profileshare\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ACA2018\enu\\Support\

AutoCAD 2016 and 2018 when launched on VDI with Folder redirection, throws up errors(refer to the Error Screenshots section Below) .

Issue does not occur when using local windows profiles.

  1. Issue only occurs when the users roaming profile GPO is enabled
  2. Issue Does not occur when Local windows profile has been enabled (when GPO is disabled).
  3. VDI Running On: Citrix Xendesktop 7.15 LTSR CU4 Windows version: Windows 10 1703

  4. Issue occurs on on both AutoCAD architecture 2016 and 2018.
  5. Roaming Profile along with Folder Redirection has been enabled.

Please do advice if anyone has been running autocad on their Citrix environment and has fixed this issue.

thank you!

Hello @Anonymous,

This seems to be more of Citrix & Group Policy issue unrelated to Autodesk. Please reach out to Citrix Support for further information on the set up.

Our documentation explains how to manage AutoCAD roaming profiles "About the Location of Customizable Files."

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Hi Natasha,

Thanks for your inputs. This is definitely not an GPO issue, as all other apps are working.

However, thanks to your pointer, which led me to this URL below, which has helped me fixed the issue.

the support file search path change to a central location fixed the issue.
