AutoCAD Installation Error; "Aborted.(Error: 9)"

I'm having trouble installing AutoCAD 2014 ...

After proceeding with the download, the loading task bar fails when it reaches 98% with the report, "Aborted. (Error 9)."

This is the first time I've had trouble downloading anything from Autodesk. If anyone has advice, I would greatly appreciate any correspondence. Thanks!

Hi! I think this should work as a workaround if you download it direct from your account management page after  you login here: https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/all

Hope this helps! 🙂 It works for me.

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry about the issue. You have tried performing a clean uninstall, disabling your antivirus, and installing from the virtual agent in a different browser?

Hi @Anonymous

See this article: How to perform a clean uninstall of an Autodesk product and follow the instructions.

Also, I see you have already got the serial number for your student license. So you just need to download the program itself which is the same when you download from Education Community or from Virtual Agent. The serial number you enter will determine the license you activate.

Hi @Anonymous,

Yes, you should just do it on your AutoCAD file or whichever one you are having trouble with.

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!

Do you mean you've already tried the download from Virtual Agent?

Hi. I have the same issue with these guys. I kept redownloading it but it doesn't work. I also tried the link you shared ("virtual agent") but got the same issue. I hope you can help me with this. I need it so badly. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I´m having issues with the error 9 too. I´ve already read everything about this error, and tried all solutions I´ve found over my researches, but no luck yet. I´m on a notebook with 4 MB RAM, lots of hard disk space and my OS is WIndows 7 Home premium, 64 bit. I can´t even donwload it because the operation is always aborted with the error 9 on the beggining of the download process. I´ve tried many times during many days, and in different periods of the day. I´ve also blocked my firewall. No luck at all until now. Can someone drive me to the solution? I´m trying to download and isntall Autocad.

Hi @Anonymous,

People have different results based on the set up of their computer, you tried the virtual agent already. Here is more information on the error.

Hi,matthew d. thanks for replying. It can´t be the user name or anything related, because I haven´t installed it yet, and haven´t tried to activate it. I have had trouble in the download process, and that´s when I had the error 9. I´m now once again trying to download through the virtual agent. It´s taking a lot of time, because my connection isn´t fast, but at least it´s downloading and I reached 50% of download already. I´ll try to install after the process is complete, and see if it´s OK this time.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Community.

Could you try downloading using the Browser Download method or the Virtual Agent instead? Check out this Autodesk Solution on Error 8 or Error 9 during install for more details. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you,
