I am not really sure what else to suggest here. Does Microsoft .net framework 4.5.2 show as a program in your list of installed programs in the programs and feature/Uninstall a program control panel? If so can you try removing it and then re-install it from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42642

If that doesn't help it may be time to consider an OS re-install.

@TravisNave  I think there is problem with a file "acad.msi" present in folder "x64/acad", everytime I tried to install this msi file it gives the same error as when run from "setup.exe" :".net 4.5 is not installed. Autocad 2015 cannot be installed ....". I even deleted all the folders and file except acad.msi present in "x64/acad", and ran acad.msi, then also it gave the same error. So there is a problem with this "msi" file.

The MSI installer relies on the .net framework to be able to run some of this processes. It's possible you have a corrupt download but it sounds more like there's a problem accessing the .net framework on your system. Still it's a relitively simple step to delete your downloaded installer and re-download it if you think it may be corrupt.

This is a problem in the installation package.
The Autodesk in some .msi checks the "build" for the Framework, and in other "version".
Problem checking «version» that is a string. And if you want to check option starts with "4.5".
(DOTNET_INSTALLED = "# 1" AND DOTNET4_VERSION << "4.5") OR ACAD_SECONDARY_INSTALL = 1 OR ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET = 0.
Do not take people's heads.

if you have version 4.6 Framevork - you need to change the value of the "version" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client" - 4.5.
after installation Autodesk - to return the previous value

This was the problem precisely. I changed the key, ran the installer and it finished fine.

Hi Angelo,

Can you upload a copy of your setup.ini? I can modify it to remove the install checks for .net framework.

i seem to be having the same issue with the design suites ... i have had no problem installing each program individually but when it comes to the design suite it keeps either having network errors (which there is not an issue with network connection i checked).... or it says net 4.5 not installed.... i am on windows 10 and 4.5 is installed i checked

Hello -

I'm trying to install BDSP 2015 on a new Windows 10 setup and getting the same error about .NET Framework 4.5 when the AutoCAD Architecture installation tries to process. (Revit installed fine, by the way.)

I'm unable to install .NET 4.5; its installer tells me I already have a more current version installed, even if I've disabled 4.6 in WIndows Features.

I'm attaching my setup.ini file for my BDSP installation as well. Could you please try to modify it to bypass the .NET check(s)?

Thank you in advance.

Here's your setup ini file with all the .net calls removed. you can replace your existing setup.ini and with this and try the install again.

Thank you for the .INI file.

However, it appears I still have the same issue.

I'm not completely certain, but it looked like the installer was on the Materials Library portion of the installation when it gave me the message about needing .NET 4.5.

I can't be sure, though, as I'd minimized the installation window and was unable to maximize it with the error message 'live'. When I OK'd out, Windows restarted.

Any other thoughts?

Thank you again.

Sorry we're working in untested territory here so there may be multiple issues. Can you upload a copy of your setup log from the failed install? If you didn't save it from the post install screen it should still be in your temp folder.

If you check your registry for the following key, what does the value for Version read?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client

I have not gotten the installer to work unless this registry key reads "4.5" for Version. If it is anything else, you may want to try changing it temporarily, run the install, then change it back.

No worries, I really appreciate the quick responses.

I'm not sure exactly which .LOG file will help, so I'm attaching all the hits from a search of my C drive that appear to come from my most recent attempt to install BDSP 2015 (after Revit and some other components had already successfully installed) in <Log Files.zip>.

There's no option to view a log file when I get the error, just an "OK" button (see attached screen cap).

Thank you again!

I actually tried this one yesterday as well. It sounded like a winner, but unfortunately, I'm unable to change the registry value from 4.6.00079 to 4.5. It returns "Cannot edit Version: Error writing the value's new contents."

I'm a domain admin and a local admin on this workstation... because I know the question will be asked.

I am at the same point - installing AutoCAD Architecture 2015 on a new Win 10 system. The Net 4.5 error comes up.

Were you able to get a fix per your request?

Thank you

Unfortunately, no.

Still hoping Mr. Asbury is able to glean something from the .log files.

Currently, I've reset the Windows 10 install completely; I'm working on another attempt at BDSP installation with the revised setup.ini file he provided and a set of BDSP installation files downloaded yesterday. I'm hoping the lack of prior failed installations in combination with the setup.ini file might have some different outcome. Not overly optimistic, but we'll see.

It's difficulty to tell exactly from the logs but it looks Like AutoCAD architecture has Functions withing the install MSI called DOTNET_INSTALLED and DOTNET4_VERSION. I edited the ACA.MSI with ORCA and looked at what the function DOTNET_INSTALLED was doing. I found the following.

(DOTNET_INSTALLED="#1" AND DOTNET4_VERSION << "4.5") OR ACAD_SECONDARY_INSTALL=1 OR ACAD_CHECK_DOTNET=0

When Iook at the DNOTNET4_VERSION function it's checking a version reg key at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client

So it looks like there are two choices to proceed with the ACA install, Use orca to edit the MSI to be looking for .net vesion 4.6 instead of .net version 4.5. Or Edit that version key in the registry to say it's version 4.5. The registry is probably the better way to go since there may be other functions in other installers as well that we haven't encountered but I would suggested switching the key back to it's original value after completing the install.

Thanks again for the legwork!

As mentioned above, I'd been unable to change the value of the Version reg key at that location on previous attempts.

However, I did a little searching and found that if I right-click on the containing folder in the registry, click on "Permissions..." then "Advanced" and change ownership to my account, I'm then able to modify the value.

I performed this modification during the BDSP installation (it was churning on the Revit component at the time, hadn't gotten to AutoCAD Architecture yet) so I'll post back here when I have a result.
