This reminder in the attachment below pops up every 10 mins.  I don't recall how to fix it.  Can anyone give me a pointer?

Thnak you.

Thank you for contacting Autodesk Technical Support. My name is Jon and I’m happy to assist you on this issue.

I understand that you're seeing an ongoing error message when running 3ds max wherein max isn't able to save the Autoback file; the message repeats every time the program tries to save your current scene file.

Can you double-check the free space left on your C:\ drive? In my experience, this message is usually seen when your C:\ drive (or wherever you're trying to save your Autoback files to) is full. If you have a large 3ds max scene (say, 200 megs) and you've got the number of Autoback files set high (such as 20), your Autoback folder might have 4 gigs of max files sitting in it. Deleting unneeded files on your C: drive may help.

Please let me know if this suggestion helps, and if you have any other technical questions, I'll work with you to resolve them.

Best regards,

Jon A. Bell,

Jon,

      Found the solution!

See the link to the note in Max Helpfile below. I've been a user since 1995 (MAX1) and only have seen this twice, could not recall it!

Going back to the Default solved it and then a few changes, UI color, SelectByName etc. to back to original settings.

Thank you for the response, good to see you on line.
