3DS Max Won't Open?

I have just reset my laptop, and not sure of which windows version I'm working on right now. I installed both autocad 2019 and 3ds max 2019. Autocad works fine but 3ds max won't launch. I tried to reinstall 3ds max but nothing changed.

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Are you see the 3DS Max Splash Screen?  Have you checked Windows Task Manager and made sure there's no mutiple 3DS Max processes running?  Any error message?  Does your graphics card meed the requirements?

Nothing happens when I try to open it. Not even the splash screen appears. I reinstalled an earlier version in hopes that it would work but it's the same thing.

Hello @Anonymous,

Before downloading & installing did you prepare the system fully? Are you sure you had a complete download double check the files loaded & the extraction?

You can try starting fresh being sure you do not have any interference on the operating system or the network.

You can have your Task Manager running during the download & install to be sure something on the operating system is not causing the issue.

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the previous installation & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer, make sure apps are not auto running in the background
  3. Log in as Administrator (check your permissions, full control) or create a new profile
  4. Make sure you have a strong connection & good internet speed
  5. Clean out the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter (Windows)
  6. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  7. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.
