Why Autodesk ask my graduation date?

Good evening everyone. I am new user of fusion 360 as a student. My question is why autodesk ask my graduation date?

I am graduating in 2020 to go to college. So does it mean I cannot update my license for another 3 years from 2020 to 2023 as I will be now in college??

Thank you in advance, Franck.

I started to use Autodesk in 2017 which means it will end in 2020 so I am wondering what will happen after the 3 years license. Am I going to lose my projects or can I reinstall Fusion 360 using the same profile and email that I started with from the beginning?

Although I can't predict the future and the future interface of Fusion 360 in 2020 but you can just request another 3 yr license (assuming Autodesk doesn't change the rules) and that you continue to attend school after 2020..

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community.  Please review the information below:

To Extend Student Software

You have one of two options:

1. If you still qualify as a student will need to re-activate or activate the newer software again using the serial number provided when you download from the Education Community download site. You cannot extend or renew an educational license for the older product after it has expired.

OR

2. If you do not qualify you would need to purchase software by visiting www.autodesk.com or www.autodesk.com/reseller to locate the reseller nearest you.

Then, Update Your Serial Number Without Reinstalling Your Software

Regarding your files in Fusion 360, you should have your files backed up & saved to a more universal format like .dwg, .dxf, .obj,

Let us know if you have any more questions. Smiley Happy

EDU licenses are only valid for 3-years: if you are in college in 3-years you would simply sign up for a newer fusion360 edu license (if the program is still around).

Have fun with Fusion360!

Ok, thank you very much. Can I re_use the same email that I used in those 3 years? Now, what will happen to my projects after my 3 years license?

Yes you can use the same email address..  But in order to user and request educational license you must be attending a qualified educational institution.    IF you leave school and there's still time left on your license, you still can't use the license just because there's time left on it.   In regards to your project, they will be maintained throughout your time but you should be backing them up (downloading) to your machine every so often.
