unable to initialize adlm + License was not obtained even though it its working

I am using Maya 2016. These 2 message, 'unable to initialize adlm' +' License was not obtained' ,  randomly appeared 2 or 3 times in the last few months.

My maya is working all fine. Not sure why this is happening. Will my Maya stop working all of a sudden? I have student 3 year version

Many Thanks

Hello greekgooner

It looks like you are unable to obtain a license from the server. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

So even though my Maya is definately working at this very moment...I am  using it right now to create a model...I still have to follow these troubleshooting steps?

Hello @greekgooner,

Use the following steps to reset the stand-alone licenses for all Autodesk products.

1. Close all running applications.

2. Rename the adskflex_#######_tsf.data file to adskflex_#######_tsf.data.old.

These files can be located:

Vista or Windows 7 /8 /10

  • C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data
  • C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\adskflex_########_tsf.data.backup

3. Launch the product & activate your Autodesk software

Hello @greekgooner,

Since it is working I wouldn't try to fix the pop-up error until after you are done using the software for your project. Wait until you don't need to use Autodesk product then try to troubleshoot it.

Ah yes, I presumed so as well. Thanks. As I have not followed the troubleshooting steps that you both kindly provided, I do not know if it has fixed my issue. So I will just accept you answer as the solution for now.
