The least intuitive installation progress i have ever encountered

Trying to download Revit 2016 Student version, and i'm about to give up. I had trouble with the 2014 and 2015 versions, where - in both cases - i was forced to do the "Browser download" (ie. downloading the massive files one by one) to do the install, simply because the installer is unresponsive, often disconnects or freezes. I have now tried installing 2016 for two(!!!) full days - still no luck. Every single time the installer freezes at some point, refuses to "connect" or simply does not open. I tried the "Browser download" again, but this time it only downloads the 001_002 file and there is no link for the 001_001 file, which means i'm getting "missing file" once i try the installation. But that's not even all... All the countless broken installation attempts leaves LOADS of bogus installation files on my computer, meaning that right now i have a 126mb(!) installation of the Content Library which is obviously bugged. Trying to uninstall it launches the dreaded installer once again, which simply gives me the message "uninstalling" - that has been going on for 20 minutes straight now. Like honestly, i absolutely love the software coming out of Autodesk, but this HAS to be fixed. Just give me a manual link for the installation files and let me avoid that messed up excuse of an installer. Thank you.

I found the "Virtual Agent" which has manual links for both File 1 and File 2... Downloading the second file now - here's to hoping that's the solution for me.
