Students having probems downloading free Inventor

I teach at Township High school District 214 which has 6 high schools in the district that all have Autodesk licenses at each school for the engineering classes.  Now my students are stuck and home and most of them are having problems downloading your free Inventor software.  Many have it downloaded but they get an error saying "This trial version is no longer valid"  when they have only downloaded the program last week.  Why are my students having so many problems downloading your free software, and what can you do to solve the problem?  Our district pays for this and you need to come up with a solution.   Thanks

Have you reached out to your district's IT support to ensure your students are supposed to get their software from Autodesk, and not the district?

Are your students each signing up at the Autodesk EDU website, going through the validation process, getting the email from Autodesk that you got approved, then going to that account link and get their licensed software https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/education-program/create-educatio...

Or did they just download the software from Autodesk, running it for 30-days and not much else?

Have you had a chance to reach out to the dedicated EDU Support team at Autodesk yet http://www.autodesk.com/education/support/edu-contact-us-form

Hi @Anonymous,

Have them check http://manage.autodesk.com/ to see if Inventor appears under products and services;

If it's not under products & services then they need to request Inventor from: https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/inventor-professional

If it's still not appearing contact edu support: https://www.autodesk.com/education/support

@Anonymous

Have you gone through this process yourself on your personal computer?

I have helped hundreds of students through this process and can guide you through the process so that you will know how to help your students.

Yes I have because I forgot to borrow a license before I left school. It
went very well when I did it. It is so hard trying to help these kids when
I am at home. It seems like the kids that downloaded the software early in
the year had no problems and all the kids trying now are all having
problems.

Hello @Anonymous,

I am sorry to hear that your students are having trouble downloading & activating our software. I believe your students are encountering issues due to our new verification process.

Please have your students review the information below to set up individual student account's & register their student software.

How to get access to Educational Software

  1. You need to be enrolled or employed by a Qualified Educational Institution
  2. Create an Account & wait for your verification email from [email protected]
  3. To verify that you're eligible to access Autodesk Educational licenses proof of enrollment or employment needs to be provided & uploaded. You have a limited time to provide the documentation. Once uploaded, your document will be reviewed and you'll receive an email within 48 hours to confirm your status.
  4. Then review the Steps for Setting-Up Student Software
  5. Educational Software includes the current version & 3 versions back
  6. After receiving the approved verification email, visit the "Free Software" page it will provide you with all the information you need to download, install & activate, you will also receive an email containing your Serial# & product key,  information will appear in your Autodesk account in 24-72hrs
  7. If you have already selected the product on this page, it is assigned & should also be available in your Autodesk Account under the "All Product & Services" it will appear in your Autodesk account in 24-72hrs

Please "Accept Solution" if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Thanks to everyone for your help.  My school district has figured out a solution and I am piloting the use of Inventor through Appstream and it seems to be working very good.  Once I give them the go ahead they will push the app to the students.

Again I want to thank everyone for all of your help.  This community is awesome, and I am sorry for saying our district pays for Autodesk software.  I had no idea that they provide software to schools for free.  Thank you Autodesk for all that you do for my students and me.
