Student verification supposedly successful, but product not appearing in Account Management and software not offering license activation.

Hello!

I'm a university student and I need the Autodesk Maya for one of my projects. My university has provided me with a student email address (with .ac domain). So I signed up in the Autodesk website using this email address and applied for the educational program.

The site required me to verify my email address, which I did without any issues at all.

After that, I visited the educational product listing page at https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview and it required me to provide an official document from my educational institution. Now, I have a "Certification of Admission" provided by my institution, so I took a picture of it and started to upload it in the site's form.

But I was suddenly having network issues and after waiting for a long while I assumed that the photo had probably failed to upload. So, I refreshed the page and the page now was surprisingly saying "Hi, S M! Your educational access to Autodesk products is valid through January 16, 2022. Choose a product below.".

So, I assumed the photo might have been successfully uploaded and the account probably had been cleared for eligibility.

Then I went ahead and downloaded the Maya for Mac software. After successful installation I opended it up and signed in to my student account credentials. But the software was asking me to either provide a serial key or to purchase a license. I looked for any and every other possible way but to no success. Then I looked it up in the internet and found out that as soon as I had pressed the download button in the product listing page, the software is supposed to be listed in "My Products and Services" list at https://manage.autodesk.com/. So, I visited it using my student account and found the list to be empty, which means that I don't have any products or services yet.

So I went ahead to the products listing page and clicked the download button again. This time I noticed that as soon as I press the button, a red banner appears at the top of the page saying "We're experiencing system issues. Please try again later." (I probably missed this banner the previous time while downloading).

It's been about 6 hours now and the issue still perists, so I have a strong feeling that the official document I tried to upload during eligibility verification had most probably failed and the issue is related to my account still not being verified for eligibility.

Can you please help me out? I can definitely provide the official document again and wait a couple of days for proper verification, that's totally fine. But as of now, I can't seem to even find any way to reapply for eligibility verification.

Hi @Anonymous,

Rest assured that your verification has more than likely been successful, given that it's not possible to even get to the download button to appear on that page until you are verified.

With the education site being down, it's unlikely that it will return before the start of next week as the Education team aren't available at the weekends.

In the meantime, I'd recommend using a trial so you can use it in the meantime.

Thank you very much for your helpful reply and clearing up my confusion about the eligibility verification. I wasn't aware of the education site being down. I'll start working with the trial version for now and check on the site regularly. It'll also be very helpful if you could kindly reply to this thread and trigger a notification for me when the Education team are available again and fixes up the site. Anyways, your reply has been very informative and I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out.

I just tried and it seems to be working fine now, I got the educational license for a year. Thank you very much for your help and advice. And I've just fallen in love working with Maya in the past two weeks. This thing is so darn cool.
