Student access using Google OS Fusion app

We are trying to find out if there is a way to be able to Provision student access with using there google user name and password and either link to Azure or G-suite so students don't have to create additional accounts?

if there is a way for us to import all the students and passwords to simplified it for all students?

If anyone has a good idea we would be grateful thanks CUSD

Hi @Anonymous,

Autodesk is a separate account and each student will need an Autodesk Account since you are using Fusion 360 so they have cloud storage etc.

Unfortunately, the bulk management of students isn't a thing here yet (I've spoken to some Autodesk employees about this but no idea if and when anything will happen).

However, as a heads up, you may want to get some status letters planned since students will require verification to access Fusion 360 within the educational plan

Hi @Anonymous,

Part of the verification process for Student licenses means submitting ID. Some schools don't offer their students ID and in some instances, student IDs have been rejected. A status letter is a letter of educational status and is a pretty sure-fire way of getting verified since it contains the Students Name, School Name/Letter-Head and a current date - more info can be found here: https://damassets.autodesk.net/content/dam/autodesk/www/industries/education/docs/verification-faq.p...

Thank you very much for your post it will be helpful and it is to bad that it is not possible to import the information. I guess we can't complain to much as it is free to Education.

Is there anyway to let Autodesk support be aware of the Domain the students will be using? All student account use @custudents.net and is a google G-Suite account.

Hi @Anonymous,

That is one thing - being free is definitely a good thing despite the drawbacks, as far as I'm aware I don't think giving Autodesk your domain will accelerate verification (I assume that what you're thinking, let me know if not). Unfortunately, verification by using an academic email has kinda become pointless since some universities allow their alumni to keep their email addresses without changing their domain to a dedicated alumni domain so you don't who is a current student...

Hi Mark-

Thanks for sharing this question and feedback.

As Leo has correctly pointed out, we don't currently offer single sign-on (SSO) or student importing solutions, as you've described, for education customers.

However, we're always listening to feedback and exploring ways to make accessing our software more seamless for educators and students, so I appreciate hearing this input.
