Software problems after attempted import of settings

I recently bought a new laptop, and after successfully installing AutoCAD, Inventor and Advance Steel, I tried to export the settings from AS on my PC to the laptop AS 2020.

To cut a long story short, it did not work, and ultimately I tried to uninstall and re-install the software, which didn't work either, as the Laptop still recognizes that AS has been installed.

The bigger problem, is that none of the Autodesk software is now running.

What is the solution.

When I try and load AutoCAD, an error message appears "Problem loading AcBrandRes.dll resource file.",and then FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0000 Exception at 5EFD911h

Inventor brings up the dialogue box, and then it disappears and nothing.

I am running Windows 10 Home. and the filing structure is different to my PC with Windows 10 Pro, so it is difficult to compare folders.

All help will be appreciated.

Regards,

Lots of things to try are listed here https://www.autodesk.com/support/download-install/individuals/manage/remove-autodesk-software

Or reformat/reset your new laptop back to factory settings and start over.

Just to offer a simple solution: That error occurred for me simply because I had made the AutoCAD files folder a subfolder in another folder on my desktop, in an effort to organize. If you've moved your AutoCAD files folder to another location, or away from desktop, you might want to try putting that back where it was or on the desktop.
