Sketchbook enterprise 2018 crashing before activation

Hi,
I tried installing sketchbook enterprise 2018 under my student license recently but before I even get to the place where I enter the activation code, the application crashes..
I tried a couple of times and every time it's the same thing.
Even updated with the hotfix patch under the updates inside the Autodesk app..
Even reinstalling a few times and rebooting didn't help and I couldn't find any other resource to solve the issue..

If you are using a download now or install now you want to try a more effective method called browser download.

I have listed some steps to prepare your system for download and installation in case you run into a problem. 

1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall 
2. Log in as an Administrator 
3. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter 
4. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
5. Temporarily disable UAC:  Windows 7 , Windows 10 
6. You student account should have a Browser Download Method available

Also,

1. Make sure you have an updated graphics card driver by checking the manufacturer's website (Assign the correct Graphics Card - Step #8) 
2. Check the Operating System needed & the required hardware by reviewing the system requirement for the software

I've followed all the things you told and i'm still not able to activate my license.

Everything closes the moment i click on the enter a serial number button, I've attached a screenshot to show the window

I don't think those things could be causing this because everything works fine otherwise, the issue is only when i try to activate it

What are you encountering when you try to activate? 

On the "Let's Get Started" screen try one of the following: 

1. Type the Serial # & Product Key do not copy/paste it in the fields, you should get green check marks next to the fields. 
2. Also, try the "Sign in" option with your Autodesk User ID & password.

I have similar problem with Jaikrishna.

When I am at the 'Let's Get Started' window, as soon as I click on "Enter a Serial Number" everything closes down completely. The program works fine on the free trial option.

When click sign in, the program starts as free trial as well. I do have a serial number from the email, but I still cannot use it. I tried everything you advised on this thread and tried re-install numerous time so far.

Please assist me on this, thank you

Hey,
The issue was that the window in the screenshot I attached used to close when clicked on the serial number option, so there was no place to enter the serial code..

But turns out I had the completely wrong application
With a student license, all you need to do is login with your account into sketchbook.
I don't know why they provide the link for enterprise version.
When I contacted the sketchbook support they sent me a link which was on their website already and all I had to do is log in with my account

The link in free software for student is still 'enterprise' version for me..

I did sign in using my student account, however it is appeared as trial version.

I do have a serial number, but everytime I try to activate while using the application, an error appeared:

Every time I click Ok, the application terminates 

I guess I will just have to cherish my moment within this 30 days instead of 3 years license...

The link you gave me works as a free version, thank you 😄

However I am using it for complex visualisation and need more than 3 layers.

I do intend to use a full version. Let's see if there is an actual solution for the program crash thing.
Other education programs work fine for me, I use Fusion360, Alias Auto studio, flow, etc. never had any problems.

So I think this issue only happens for Sketchbook. If there is no solutions after 30 days, I guess I will just buy a full version (if it still exist)

or maybe sub for yearly. But seeing this issue, I am also hesitant to deal with anything with sketchbook serial number haha.

It actually works if you login without your account.

When I log in using my student account on the Sketchbook program (not Sketchbook for Enterprise) I am only getting the free version features. What do I need to do differently to get the pro features?

I too am having the same problem of not being able to enter my serial number on the Sketchbook for Enterprise menu. This is the same problem as the original poster in this topic, where clicking on "Enter a Serial Number" just closes the program.

Clicking on "Sign In" results in an error message:

"Failed to load URL https://ipm-aem.autodesk.com/en-GB/" ... "with error The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. (404)."

Hello, I have the same problem ( Registration with a student account, window surface pro 3, sketchbook for entreprise ). The software keep crashing when i click on Enter a Serial Number. The trial version works, and I do not possess a ID. Exporting and importing the license does not work too. I wish to have the pro features, and this is a major setback.

Hi there

I have the same problem for a while. once I click on Enter Serial the application terminate and no window to enter the serial number.

This is only happens with Sketchbook pro Enterprise.

Please Autodesk fix this issue.
