Don't hurry up to Uninstall Autodesk. I've just restarted my computer and it works again.

You don't need to reinstall Revit or other Autocad software packages.  Try this instead.  Windows Only

1. Check if the Autocad desktop licensing service is running. If not restart it.

2. If it does not restart (mine wouldn't), update the licensing service using this link. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-licensing-service-updat...

3. Once installed start the service

This fixed mine.

I know it's an old post, but I experienced this very thing over the weekend. And almost jumped the gun and start deleting everything, but hold on a sec. This all worked fine the day before yesterday, so what else has happened since then? Now I'm not saying that Microsoft is to blame, however, my hard drive is a scrambled mess from... oh, different thread.

Anyway, all I'm saying is that even a slight modification to your system (something as minor as a Windows version upgrade thrown at your system without warning) could have a ripple effect elsewhere. I tracked down the windows.old folder, deleted completely from my hard drive, rebooted and everything has been fine since.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not discounting anything that has been posted here or saying anything is wrong with any of the suggested solutions. I am merely throwing my experience out on the table. So, if you experienced any similar computer-based update or upgrade, check out the .old folder. But research it a little more before just deleting it. I did and my experience here and what I did was really abbreviated for the sake of not boring everyone to death.

For me the solution was fairly simple. I just needed to log into the Autodesk Desktop App prior to opening Revit. For some reason, logging into the Desktop App triggers Revit to recognize your log in when it loads up and eliminates the licencing manager error in Revit. At least this is how I solve it each time it has happened to me. Screwy how logging in on one app solves an issue for another, but I would try it before uninstalling any programs.

While I was going trying the suggested options, I was also restarting my laptop. On the 4 th restarting and firing up Revit LT. It was asking for my username & password. It works without MAJOR efforts like others which I am very grateful. Nonetheless, it was time consuming and lost a lot of time.

It looks more like you haven't started.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

PLEASE TRY RESTARTING YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE UNINSTALLING ALL AUTODESK PROGRAMS!!!!!

I received this same message and found this thread. When I saw the solution was uninstalling 4 versions of Revit, 2 versions of Autocad, as well as Navis, Recap, and I'm sure I'm missing a few, this was not feasible. Instead I tried restarting my computer, and that solved the issue. It's worth trying before wasting hours uninstalling and reinstalling multiple programs.
