Revit 2020 installation error 1603

I keep getting an error 1603 when trying to install Revit. I have uninstalled all old versions of Microsoft Visual C++ from 2010 onwards (as per some other suggestions) but am still getting the error message.

I've attached the log file. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

Were you trying to install via the Browser Download method?

Your install is failing on the Visual C++ 2015 redistributables and Formit add-in...

Looks like it's only failing on the Formit add-in now, maybe try installing the add-on separately first and then try the installer again?

The problem here is the report saying that all was installed but none of the programs appears on my computer. Is the same image that I put here before, full of X in all components.

I dont know if you can understand me, if you need more explanation just tell, please. And thanks for the answer!

According to the install log, it's only failing to install Formit, but because the installer is so badly designed, it decides that the whole installation isn't worth anything if you can't have Formit and then strips all the software it has already successfully installed off your PC... that's what Rollback means:

formitfail1.JPGformitfail2rollback.JPG

So just try the Formit install first and see if that fails too and what the error is...

You might need to run the Microsoft Uninstall Tool first to get rid of any corrupt installations of the software first. Download the program, run it, choose "Problems uninstalling", then see if Autodesk Formit or Autodesk Revit 2020 appear on the list. If they do, use the program to uninstall them (it can only do one at a time, so you might need to run it twice). Clear the temporary files on your PC. Then try the Formit install first, if it succeeds, try the Revit install again. And remember to RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

Edit: I have no idea why my reply is so weirdly formatted or why it says I'm responsing to myself since I clicked on reply to @Anonymous...

Formit didn't give any problem but Revit can't be downloaded with Internet connection...

Without internet the installation succed by give the "License manager error" as always.

I will try to attach the Install log of this try.

Hi all,

In the event it helps: I had the same problem. I only downloaded CCleaner and it repairs the Registry of the computer. Then, the installation was successful.

You need to provide your installation log file.  Each installation is different and something that you're faced with doesn't mean it has a solution here.   So without your installation log file we can only speculate what the issue is at this point.  So attach your installation file here so we can review it.

Posting info: Sometimes the installation log file contains the serial # that was assigned to you.  Open your log file using Windows Notepad and perform a search on "/SN".  Depending on the number of installation attempts, your serial # may be located throughout the log file.  If present, remove or "X" out your serial # prior to posting.
