Revit 2018 Licensing System Error 1

 Hello,

When I downloaded latest Revit it is not opening and I uninstall it then install it again but it is not working. I also did the last updates but still not. Can anyone has a same issue ? If anyone will help me I will be very happy.

I have a similar issue. When I start Revit 2018 for the first time after starting my computer I get this same "licensing system error 1".

Pressing Ok closes Revit. Then Starting Revit again it works without licensing error.

So you might to try to start it second time and see if that works.

In my case it looks that it is too slow to get licensing data?

I had the same issue when I started Revit 2018 and got the message box "Licensing System Error 1". I tried to resolve this one by following these steps as the links above but it was not successful. I'm really appreciated if someone can help me to fix this issue.

I installed Revit 2018 last night, and also get this error. 

I have already tried everything on the list of fixes for the 2017 version of the error, but it still persists.

Anybody got anymore suggestions?

I have tested Revit 2018 using the "Download Now" method from the Autodesk Account. The only issue I had was with Visual C++ 2015 in the install log. Try the steps below. 

1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the program use MSfixitTool to complete the uninstall 
2. Log in as an Administrator 
3. Empty your TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter 
4. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
5. Temporarily disable UAC:  Windows 7 , Windows 10 
6. Download from Autodesk Account or via the Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

You may have a conflicting c++ installed. If you need to uninstall & reinstall a Visual C++ redistributable on the Microsoft website: 

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable (x64)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x86)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable (x64)

Dear Natasha,

I'm sorry but Visual ++ 2012 and 2013 are no longer available.

I tried to start Revit 2018 without these but Licensing Error 1 still remains.

Maybe this is the same reason why Revit 2017 is no longer starting too?

Any advice?

Hello @Daniel_Voinkov,

Try this link instead and conduct the same steps. The latest supported Visual C++ downloads. If this does not resolve it try the following steps:

1. Make sure you have an updated graphics card driver by checking the manufacturer's website (Assign the correct Graphics Card - Step #8)
2. How to reset to defaults
3. Check the Operating System needed & the required updates by reviewing the system requirement for the software 
4. Update your product with the latest service pack or Hotfixes by visiting the Autodesk website or account
5. Reboot the computer
6. In Windows Start, delete unnecessary items in the Windows Temp folder, but do not delete the Windows Temp folder itself. You can locate the Temp folder by entering %TEMP% in the Search bar of Windows Start
7. Temporarily disable antivirus & firewall, use Task Manager to "End Task" feature to end the anti-virus software or other items that could be running in the background
8. If the above does not resolve the issue continue & try Clean Uninstall of the product and try a browser download via Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts) and install the product again

Hi Natasha,

I tried all the other tips you gave and nothing worked.
By accident I found out that the mscvcp110.dll en msvcr110.dll were missing.
Replacing these files solved the problem.

I found the solution repairing Microsoft Visual C++ 2012; 2013; 2015 ("modify" --> "repair").

I'm having the exact same problem, but when I checked the solutions under the Revit 2017 board, I found that my FLEXnet folder was empty, I'd imagine that means no licence file is being generated? It doesn't even give me the option to put a licence serial number in

Just to follow up, you have to reinstall the full suite of Visual C++ Redist, use the installer tool on majorgeeks, took 5min and fixed everything
