I too am also having this issue, and it’s very frustrating because no matter what troubleshooting steps I try to follow, I keep running into the same issue EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!
I am currently running macOS Catalina, Version 10.15.5
I just want to make it clear that your redirect to this page…
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-t...
…Does absolutely nothing! After downloading “The Fusion 360 Cleaner.app” zip file, it unzips fine, then when you try to open the application, Finder returns with the message…
“The application “Fusion 360 Cleaner” can’t be opened.”
So then I try unzipping the file using “The Unarchiver” application as recommended, and then try to open the file with this, Finder now says…
“Fusion 360 Cleaner is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.”
So I can’t even use the tool you built to “Perform an automatic clean uninstall of Autodesk Fusion 360”? WHAT’S UP WITH THAT?!
…And if the automatic removal process doesn’t work, you guys were “nice” enough to include a manual way of searching for all the files… Yeah not really…(-_-)

PROBLEM!!!
- Go to the following locations and remove the listed folders and files:
- /users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Common (If present, delete the Material Library folder)
- /users/<username>/Downloads (If present, delete Fusion 360 Client Downloader.dmg)
- /users/<username>/Library/Caches/com.autodesk.senddump
- /users/<username>/Library/Logs/autodesk.webdeploy.streamer.log
- /users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.autodesk.fusion360.Autodesk Fusion 360.plist
- /users/<username>/Library/Preference/com.autodesk.MC3Framework.plist
- /users/<username>/Library/Preference/com.autodesk.AcCoreConsole.plist
- /users/<username>/Library/CrashReporter/MaterialLibraryMigrator.plist
You guys are giving us instructions to look for these files on the system level of your Mac but in reality, the files are actually located on the user level of the Mac.
Hence the distinguishable differences between a “~” symbol and a “/“ symbol
You guys are giving out incorrect information which makes it almost impossible to follow the steps in these guides THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO HELP US!!!
Also, why is nothing written in plain text? This only adds to the confusion of knowing what should and shouldn’t be copied and pasted into terminal.

After spending countless hours looking through the forums on any other instances of this exact topic, it did nothing but further waste my time!
on trying to find a solution trying to figure out the cause of this error for myself because the other instances on this exact topic did nothing but waste my time. I even tried following the steps in this link…
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fus...
…and although it may be outdated because it’s from August 26th, 2019, it still did absolutely nothing except leaving me even more frustrated.
Also, whoever wrote these terminal commands obviously is not familiar with Mac OS because what’s actually there looks like it’s structured for windows. I had to figure out that on my own when trying to find the correct commands to enter.
(Whatever is written on this page is wrong and fire whoever wrote it incorrectly! -_-)
It should be written as…
sudo -i
Then it prompts password, then shows (~ root# ), then type…
cd ~/Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/'
then terminal drops to next line and returns this...
>
Then type
chmod -R 777 Autodesk/‘
then terminal drops to next line and returns this AGAIN...

I guess it doesn’t matter because that’s as far as the guide says you need to go for it work now…
Then step 5 on this forum says to “relaunch the installer”
Okay great, so it should work now then, RIGHT?????
NOPE!!! Same thing.
I am so aggravated from this stupid installation process, why can’t it JUST WORK??!!! You guys literally have me going down all these rabbit holes because nobody can actually figure out what’s going on! It’s utterly ridiculous!
—————————————
I am including the error log as produced by the actual installation of Fusion 360. and all screenshots associated with each of the issues I encountered.
Also, I should mention that because I got this “[Errno 13] Permission denied:” error, the Fusion 360 application never found its way to my applications folder. Instead, it’s stuck in the application support folder.
I just want this to work and I really don’t understand why something that should be this simple to install, is giving me the headache of a lifetime!
PLEASE HELP!!!
