New Acad Elect License does not allow adding a user

Here is the issue:  We had (1) Standalone license with I'm the user and Software Coordinator.  We purchased a second package through Autodesk Store for another user.  We can see the second package from the Contract Administrators login, but we cannot assign it to a user.  As a Software Coordinator, I cannot see the new package from my login.  I'm using the word "package" since Autodesk stopped using serial numbers.  The new user "Randy" has downloaded the software and logged in but the software seems to be in Trial Version.

 

Customer Service: " I checked your account and invted you to the contract n.xxxxxxxxxxxxx which includes the AutoCAD Electrical. Now, another user is already assigned to this license, hence that is why you cannot access it." 

 

However, I replied back: 

  • "Actually we purchased another standalone license for Acad Elect.   I'm  assigned to xxxxx (Serial: xxxxxx).  We want to assign Randy to the newly purchased item.  The screen on for the Contract Manger or the Software Coordinator does not allow us yet."

No response yet.  Got any ideas?

First of all you should always go through a reseller so they are there when you run into situations like this..  Smiley Wink

 

When a product is purchased (okay you subscribe to it)..  The use of product is automatically assigned to the contract manager of your subscription.  So that means the contract manager or software coordinator has to un-assign the use of product from their account and assigned it to the user (Autodesk ID) who needs it.    But it sounds like your account (being the Software Coordinator) is not seeing the new stuff.  Anyhow..  Have you un-assign the use from the contract manager using that account?

 

Update:   Also this is mainly a peer to peer network where users are assisting other users like yourself.  So we have no access to your information and/or troubleshoot issues related to your Autodesk Account.  You can also chat with an agent here and I will tag @natasha.l and she can assist you.

Thank You!  From the Contract Mangers View we can see only one Contract#.  When you purchase a new seat should it be a new contract or under same contract.  We can unassign and assign the 1 seat we have with the older contract.  But the new seat does not show up under any contract.

If you make purchases at different times, you'll have separate contracts for each.

 

Look under the Users section and remove the assignment from your contract manager / software coordinator, then assign the new seat to Randy. By default, the person who purchase the software will automatically get assigned to the asset.
