I am not 100% sure where to start.
I downloaded the install 2 days ago. I had an issue about akamai (a process I now cannot kill apparently) that fixed itself by pressing ok in the windows defender pop up. The installation proceeded on, which took about 20min total. At the end I had one error message but it didn't seem important and I ignored it as I was eager to start (my bad, I know...)
The program worked fine, and then I had issues when opening all the .ma from digitaltutors tutorials "error file : c:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2016/scripts/shelves/shelf_Rendering.mel line 270: Object 'renderShelfIPRRenderButton' not found"
I couldn't render anything properly using their files, or school's, it's all very dark and warped.
I tried creating a scene, inserting and re-sizing plane images and saving. I waited and waited but after 40min it was spinning with no saved file. Had to kill it via task manager and rebooted.
I decided to repair the install via control panel, let it run 90min, progress tracking was still at 0%, so I killed the setup.exe via task manager.
Rebooted, tried to uninstall and I got "Maya is unable to uninstall"
I have no idea what to do next.
I would post log files as I did delete my temp file before the installation but there are over a dozen log files and I'm not sure which would be needed.
Any idea what to do next?
And if there was a simple explanation of what this akamai is and why I can't kill it (it restarts in 2 seconds) it would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks!
(system has windows 7 64-bit, 8g ram, intel-i5CPU, nvidia geforge GT230M if that helps)
