Maya 2016 license error 20

Not applicable

So im currently trying to reinstall maya after having booted my mac (early 2015) to its default settings.

The download and installation proceeds with no problems (although i am not asked for a serial number nor activation key for the product).

When the installation is complete, and I try to launch, I get an error message (error 20, see attachment).

I've been looking through the internet for advise on how to fix this problem, but I can't find any good explanations for a mac running the 2016 version.. I'm hoping someone here can guide me in the right direction.

cheers,

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. Have you tried performing a clean uninstall, then install from the virtual agent with your antivirus disabled?

Hi @matthew.d

Im not sure how to perform a clean uninstall on a MacBook (is there even such a thing?) I've just been moving the files to the trash and emptying it.

I tried to download the 2016 version from the VA and install it without my firewall active. It completely solved my problem! Thank you very much for fast reply to my question.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome!

The virtual agent is linked above. It uses a different download method than the install now button, so you will just need to redownload from it.

I downloaded the 2017 version but I need the 2016 version for school. I am having the same error and I tried downloading from the VA but it's the same and I am having the same problem. I can't find an answer to this anywhere.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome!

Apologies for the trouble. Have you already tried deleting the C:\ProgramData\Flexnet directory (hidden) and reinstalling the 2016 version? Are you the admin on the computer?
