licence activation clash

I had to get new stand alone licence for Inventor and autocad LT, as the original reseller is no longer working with Autodesk. Auto desk informed me I had to buy fresh subscription - couldnt renew. Problem is that inventor wont let me activate the new subscription.  Keeps reverting to prior subscription and saying its expired.  Have contacted help desk but no solution.  found an knowledge article for autodesk suggesting I go in and delete loginstate files in registry.  Not comfortable with that - surely there is a solution.  I have dwonloaded latest licence fix and uninstalled and reinstalled the program.  Lost a day on this so far.

If you have a fresh subscription, you'll have to sign in to the software with your Autodesk ID. Which means you have to change the license type. See How to change or reset a license for Autodesk software | AutoCAD | Autodesk Knowledge Network

thankyou all for your replies.  It was Inventor 2023,  replacing 2022. Both old and new were subscriptions. 

Autodesk admin sorted it form me somehow, so now I can get back to work.
