Is it necessary for me to keep all update?

Hello to expertise,

I would like to know whether I should keep all update in my laptop.

So far, I have academic license of Autodesk CAD 2026. And my laptop has 3 update included, which is 0.1 update, 1.0 update and 1.1 update.

Each one of them occupies 5.5G storage, and right now my laptop is at the edge of running out of my all storage.

I'm wondering if I could delete previous 2 update and keep the latest one in my laptop.

Looking forward to your reply.

@1373198624 Once an update is installed, there is no reason to hold onto the installation files.

Thanks for your reply

But I think you misunderstood what I meant.

I'm wondering as the system indicate that I have both 0.1 update and 1.1 update.

Can I uninstall 0.1 update and save 5.5G storage afterwards.

Thanks if you can help me futher.

Not sure what you mean with 'I have both 0.1 update and 1.1 update.'

Anyway, updates are cumulative, so if you installed the latest one, there should be only one version - the latest one.

As the picture showed in my origin post, that below the main continent AutoCAD, there is 2 update included.

The one is 2026.0.1 update and the other one is 2026.1.1 update. You can see that these 2 updates were installed in different time and both occupied a lot of storage.

I'm wondering if I can uninstall 2026.0.1 update, but still worry that if it won't function properly after uninstalling it.

Hello @1373198624

You don’t need to keep all previous AutoCAD updates installed. Updates are cumulative, meaning the latest update includes all fixes and improvements from earlier ones.

  • If you have installed the most recent update (e.g., 2026.1.1), older updates like 2026.0.1 are no longer required for AutoCAD to function properly.
  • It’s safe to uninstall older updates from Programs & Features to free up disk space.
  • If you’re referring to downloaded installation files, you can delete them after installation; they are not needed for AutoCAD to run.

Best practice:

  • Keep AutoCAD fully updated with the latest patch.
  • Remove older updates and move installation files to external storage if space is an issue.
