Inventor license not found when not logged in as local admin

We are a high school with students logging in o lab computers.

When we login as a local, not domain admin, to the computer, we can load Autodesk Inventor.

When we login as a student it looks for the license file. We point it to our license server. We've tried:

kms

kms.fg.local

kms\licenses (a read only share)

ipidress

And it does not find the license. I've downloaded the license to the desktop and tried to load it no luck.

We've tried giving everyone read only permission to the Autocad program folder on the local machine. no luck.

So the only way we can load Inventor is as a local admin....any ideas?

I ran the diagnostics on the license server and came back fine. Seems to be a local permissions issue. I've attached a screen shot of our license server.

Thanks for any help

Due to security reasons, file attachments like the one you have provided will not be opened..  We (the users) can not jeopardize our machines.  Not saying you are doing anything bad but please just attach images/screen shots directly to your posting (using the tools provided).

Anyhow to your requirements.

When the users are logged in, can they ping the license server?

Have you disable the firewall on the user's machine or added the rules?

If you cancel the message where the users are being asked for the license server what error message appears?

What version of Inventor is being used?

When you say "load", do you mean install the program?  Or run the secondary installer for the active user?  Or just run the program?

Yes they can ping it and they can see the share.
The firewall is not enabled.
If we cancel the message, the program will just exit. So they can't use use
inventor.

Thank for the help.

Hello @Anonymous,

Welcome.

How did you install the product, what Windows profile was used domain admin or the local admin?

The software will need administrator privileges (read & write) to be installed & at first launch after installation. You can remove these privileges after first launch.

Please verify these Administrator privileges, use a test computer first to see if that is the issue.
