Installed wrong AutoCAD, now Civil 3d won't install. thx

Hello, I installed AutoCAD 2017 just fine. However, I realized that I need AutoCAD Civil 3d instead. But now the Civil 3d version will not install because it says I already have AutoCAD running, which I don't.

Is it not letting me install it because I might only be allowed 1 student download at a time?

Thanks!

Hello raymond.lipin and welcome to the Autodesk community!

It looks like you are stuck at the activation/installation step while attempting to download software, or are having problems with starting your software immediately after installing. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

If the activation window is not displayed, others have resolved this by completely uninstalling and reinstalling their software. Please refer to How to Remove all Software from a Windows System for assistance.

Welcome to the community..

Although you may not see AutoCAD running on the screen, there may be a hung Acad.exe process still out there.  Bring up Windows Task Manager and confirm if there's a Acad.exe process running.  If there is, end task it or just reboot your machine.

This has nothing to do with your student account or having 1 download available to you.  Smiley Wink
