Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

This is a standard crash report and we have not clue why it would crash..  Are you saying this appeared while installing or after installation when launching the program?

Hello @Anonymous,

The crash report identified an "Unhandled Exception" due to the operating systems environment.

Please try some of these common crash report fixes:

  1. Sign in as Administrator or Create a New User Account (Full Control user permissions)
  2. Check the Operating System needed & the required updates by reviewing the system requirements for the software & Certified Graphics Card Drivers
  3. Make sure you have an updated graphics card driver by checking the manufacturer's website (Assign the correct Graphics Card)
  4. Temporarily disable your Antivirus software & Firewall
  5. Temporarily disable UAC on  Windows 7 or Windows 10
  6.  Setting permissions for an application
  7. Update your product with the latest service pack or Hotfixes by visiting the Autodesk website or account
  8. You can also review this article regarding Error: "FATAL ERROR" when launching

There is no easy fix. Ready?

First and foremost, you want to have all the installation files on your PC. This is not the time to use the INSTALL NOW option from the web. When you have that 1Gig+ file on your PC, you are ready for the following steps:

1. Go to Microsoft's fixit tool, install it, and run it: select the installation problem solver, it should list AutoCAD 2016, select it, do what it says to do, here is the link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed...

2. Repeat the above, except choose the uninstall option and f you see AutoCAD2016, select it and do what the program says to do.

3. Go into WIn7's Programs list and remove all versions of C++ 2010, 2013 and 2015 if they exist.

4. Empty your Windows Log-in Temp folder: here is how to do that http://www.auxiliary.com/it/documents/CleanTempFolderWindows7.pdf

5. Try the AutoCAD installation again by right-clicking on the installation file and choosing RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Hello @Anonymous,

  • Select "Not Listed"
  • Then search for the Product Code, go to C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2016_English_Win_64bit_dlm\Setup.ini

         SETUP_CODE={xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}

  • Paste it in

Hello @Anonymous,

Thank you for letting us know.

You received this error before installing, correct? This means you don't have the application installed, so uninstalling it will not help or work. What operating system are you trying to install this on?

Please try to re-create the event/pull up the error again & locate the event error using Event Viewer then search for it online this will help you determine the root cause. Something on your operating system is preventing you from installing the application.
