Fail to install 3ds Max 2021

When trying to install 3ds Max 2021 either via the desktop app or manually downloaded the 8GB file from AD website, the installation fails saying Max 2021 already running and i should close it first!

See attached pic.

No Max is running of course, or any related app or service, other than the default threeAutodesk services:

DesktopApp service

Desktop Licensing service

File system monitoring service

I stopped all three just in case, but the installation still fails with the same error message.

The only service i couldn't stop, was the AfterFLICS v3, which is from Cebas.

Would that interfere with the installation perhaps?

Any suggestions please?

You download the files from the Account Manager? 

Can you try rebooting and then trying the installation?

Okay, it is installing now.

Apparently the problem was indeed the AfterFLICS service running.

I disabled that service as it wouldn't stop, restarted and now the installation is proceeding as it should.

Someone from AD should let Cebas know about this.

Cebas needs to be alert .. but I doubt Autodesk will reach out as they would have to reach out to all of these various different types of software companies that might cause conflict ( just to many of them)

They usually try and get customers (Autodesk) to disable / turn off everything like this from the start.   

but glad to hear it's installing.  Hopefully everything 2021 starts up nice ... Enjoy!
