Error when deploying Revit 2026 - Missing Schema Folder

Hi All,

Anyone else having issues with creating a custom deployment for revit 2026? When I go and create a deployment, and deploy it via SCCM, click on the application I get the error:

Missing schema folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Revit Schemas 2026.

Reinstall Unit Schemas or contact Autodesk Support

What am I missing?

Looks like SCCM is skipping a part? See this on how to repair under heading Run RevitUnitSchemas.msiHelp | Missing Schema Folder | Autodesk

Hello @Sangie15 ,

Please try downloading the offline installer for Revit 2026 and extracting its contents.

Once extracted, navigate to the folder and locate the file named "RevitUnitSchemas.msi". Which will usally be found in "RVT_2026_NA_win_db_002_002/x64/RS/RevitUnitSchemas.msi" Right-click and install it using Run as administrator.

If this resolves the issue, you'll need to continue using the offline installer for deployment. In cases where the "RevitUnitSchemas.msi" fails to install automatically, we recommend adding a script to your deployment process to manually install it.

Please let me know how it goes.

I'm having the same problem and the extracted offline install does not have RevitUnitSchemas.msi. The extracted directory has:

RevitUnitSchemas.adix

RevitUnitSchemas.admeta

pkg.RevitUnitSchemas.xml

Which is the same as my Deployment Package source in "RVT_2026_en-US\x64\RS". Is that why this is broken? The install is expecting an .msi and the source has this instead.

This is also missing in our Revit offline installer.

Autodesk needs to fix this. We're not deploying out Revit this year because of this broken installation process. Crazy that all the other programs install fine except for Revit. In other threads on this matter Autodesk even had the audacity to say they don't support installing programs from the SYSTEM context anymore.

The MSI file is also missing from the extracted offline installer.

The suggestion to run the RevitUnitSchemas.msi separately is only valid for Revit 2025 and earlier releases.  In the 2026 release, the Unit Schemas component was changed to an ADIX install package to improve the performance of Revit installations.  Unfortunately, this change resulted in an increase of Revit 2026 SCCM install failures, which occur because the the memory allocated to the Windows System account is less than that have a Windows user account.

What are next steps to resolve this issue then from Autodesk?

Currently I'm working on a batch to extract and known-working directory "Revit Schemas 2026"  to the appropriate location on all machines as a wrokaround.

Regardless, the solution to this issue is inaccurate as the steps suggested in the post flagged as the solution do not work. There is no MSI file.
