Error code when installing Inventor

Hi my name is William Hua, and I was referred here by Amanda K to get some help from some experts on some technical issues that I am having. If anyone could please lend me a hand to help solve my problem, that would be much appreciated because I have a class that's going to be using Autodesk Inventor on Friday this week.

Problem: Error Code when trying to install.

When trying to install, I come up against an error code. I used Autodesk Download Manager and when it finishes "installing" the 10 Gb and I go to "setup" the software, error and then forces closes. I've read a couple of discussion on Autodesk support page, and tried multiple "solutions" that are just like my problem but none of them worked. I've tried fixing my .NET, I thoroughly cleaned and uninstalled the program which didn't have an effect because I guess it never installed because I couldn't see it on my Uninstall list. I've also cleared my %TEMP%/TEMP files, I've also made sure to have my account as an admin and where I've changed my environmental variables to a new file that allows full access. That's where I'm at so far, and still have no way to successfully install my program. Please if anyone could help me fix this problem that would be very helpful.

Hi there!

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. I see you tried emptying your Temp folder but please creating a new Windows Temp folder:

  1. Using File Explorer, create a new folder with a simple name in the root of the C:\ drive, such as C:\TESTTEMP. Edit the folder permissions to give full control to 'Everyone':
    1. Right-click the folder and select Properties.
    2. Choose the Security tab.
    3. Click Edit to change permissions.
    4. For each group or user name, select Full control.
    5. Click OK.
  2. Using a text editor such as Notepad, create a text file.
  3. Go to Control Panel > System.
  4. Click Advanced system settings in the left menu and select the Advanced tab.
  5. Click Environment Variables.
  6. Under User variables, double-click TEMP, copy the TEMP variable path value, and paste it into the text file to save it.
  7. Replace the TEMP variable value with the path to the newly created TEMP folder (from step 1, in this example, C:\TESTTEMP).
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the TMP user variable.
  9. Click OK to save changes.
  10. Install the Autodesk software product.
  11. When the software is installed successfully, return to Environment Variables to restore the default TEMP and TMP variable values, using the strings pasted into the text file.

If the issue persists, please try creating a new Windows User account:

  • Create a new user account without any spaces or special characters (i.e. ñ, é, ã) and retry the installation.

Hi,

Have you tried creating a new Windows Profile all together and installing using the Browser Download option in your Account?
