error [-15.570.36]. Unable to connect to licence server

Hi All,

Iam on a Mac OSX 10.12 using Autocad 2016. Our licence is on a server, which when offsite we need to use VPN to connect back to. When on site I have no issues, the issue occurs offsite.

The error Iam getting is "A valid licence could not be obtained by the network licence manager. Error [-15.570.36]"

Searching through knowledge articles I can not seem to find anything that relates to my particular error.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello aidan.dauphin

It looks like you are seeing "Error 15" when registering and activating software or using the Portable License Utility. The following article(s) should help you resolve the problem:

Port numbers for single server FLEXlm setup

Checklist for troubleshooting Activation and Licensing issues

Welcome to the community..

Usually this indicates (since you're remote and it works while in the office) its timing out and you just add the system variable as indicated in this article.  However I'm not a MAC user/expert and I don't know if this is even possible.

Hello @Anonymous,

Sorry for the inconvenience it seems you are experiencing difficulty pulling licensing from the network server. We first should verify connectivity to the server from the computer(s) as described below:

Using Internet Explorer to check if the ports used for licensing are open

If you have a firewall between the license server(s) and the client computers, you need to open some TCP/IP ports on the server for license-related communication. Open port 2080 for adskflex, and open ports 27000 through 27009 for lmgrd.

Configuring the Network License Manager on Mac OS X

Let me know if the above steps helped resolve the issue. Thank you.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. We have found it may actually be a issue with our Network when using VPN. Maybe related to IPV4 IPV6

Hello @Anonymous,

I understand you are encountering issues connecting to the license server. I have listed some helpful suggestions to try:

- Disabling IPV4

- When re-installing the product and when prompted for a  Host ID or Server ID, try the IP address instead

- Add the IP address and hostname to the hosts file

Please let us know how it goes.
