EDU transition to SSO/named user -- proactively add every title to our account?

As a university "IT Administrator" transitioning from network licenses via local licensing server to named-user via SSO, do we need proactively add every single Autodesk title to our account in order for SSO to work for any of our active users?

We are in the testing phase currently and if one of my testers tries to SSO to an app like Revit, they only got a "Let's get you signed up on the latest version: No active subscription or trial could be found for this email address" as shown in the attached. No option to notify an admin for example.

Will this behavior be different once we've fully turned on SSO with JIT provisioning?

You need to assign the software titels you need to a user account / group. It doesn't matter if you use SSO or not. So I guess the test user starting Revit doesn't have a license assigned and hence the message.

Thanks, Simon -- I'm finally understanding that that the just-in-time provisioning is for authentication only [1], no authorization for products.

For that, it looks like we need to configure directory sync [2] but that is not available to those of us on the Education plans [3] (??!)

There are possibly hundreds of users needing licenses to whichever specific products are being taught every academic term, and there isn't a way to automate user authorization on Education plans?

Apologies for my naivete here, I'm as new to our network licensing as I am to this transition away from it.

Huh?!? No Sync? Must be one of the 'benefits' moving to user licensing. You have to buy a Business Plan for Directory Sync to work. I guess that won't be cheap....

they better fix this.... wait till you figure out that their import process via CSV doesnt assign products.... seems to be the case but i am going to post a post about that just to confirm... boy i am really hating this product. hopefully i can convince my teachers to drop it.

Yeah, this no directory sync for EDU is major BS. The better option would be for them to automatically authorize anyone with our SSO account, and no assigned commercial product, access to any EDU license. That would make this SO MUCH EASIER!
