Different Wondows 10 profiles-All on same computer

Good morning....I would like to figure out to have AutoCAD work on different windows 10 accounts:

Situation-

AutoCAD online subscription loaded onto one single Windows 10 computer

Currently AutoCAD runs no problem on my personal windows user profile-Which is my profile and contains items I keep private

I have created a public windows 10 profile on my computer (my son wishes to learn how to use AutoCAD but I don't want to give him full access to my profile or enter my password all the time for him). When I try to open the AutoCAD shortcut (already on the public profile) AutoCAD partially opens and then freezes. It appears to do this when checking the subscription license.

I am not sure what is happening to cause this issue. I am not transferring to another computer of something like that. Just trying to use AutoCAD on different windows profiles on the same computer.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello @Anonymous,

I have included our documentation regarding the permissions needed on a Windows profile to properly run an Autodesk application.

The software needs Administrator rights during installation & at first launch after installation. It also needs to be set up to run as Administrator.

Unable to run AutoCAD as a restricted user

Unable to launch Autodesk Products as a restricted user

Good morning....Those articles did not seem to help. I am getting the feeling that even though AutoCad shows up on different window profile desktops (on the same computer) that I will need re-install it individually on each profile.

Hello @Anonymous,

You can do that, but not sure that is the root cause of the problem. Keep in mind, in order for the application to perform properly the Windows permissions mentioned in the articles are required.

We have a user that has been a test license user. However now I hace assigned a full license, however I cannot log in with that user. User is render1@lsa.no
