Create a Deployment on USB Drive

Good afternoon!  I have a client who is looking to create a deployment on an external USB drive.  However, after discussing with my internal team and doing some investigation (like this post), this seems like an unreliable approach.  Just curious if anyone has some steps that they can share to reliably create a deployment on the USB drive.  The reason for a deployment is so that all the Installation options can be configured (like a Network deployment), but the client's internal network is notoriously slow.  Thanks in advance for any advice, hope all is well and have a most blessed day!

I would never recommend this as a deployment method, too slow.  Yes I would copy to a USB drive to move to another server if I couldn't access it due to the network configuration/infrastructure..  But I would never recommend it, but that's my 2 cents...
