Changing the start in location for the AutoCAD shortcut

Hello everyone,

We have been in contact with Autodesk technical support but maybe we can get a more specific answer from the community.  We recently built a deployment for Autodesk2018 and ran into an issue where we were getting script errors at first time license checking.  It would drop a HTML file and 2 .JS files in the documents folder and not activate due to the script error.  We use group policy folder redirection to a server so students do not save locally to a computer.

To bypass this issue by changing the shortcut icon from UserDataCache to C:\Temp it then activates.  Technical support told us we can modify the desktop icon that is created via the parameters but as far as I can see that is to just put switches in.  Anyone with any ideas?  We may just switch to a license server between semesters to avoid this altogether.

Yes you can modify this.

If you have created a deployment, just load your AcadPS-<deploymentname>.mst with your AcadPS.msi in a MSI-Editor and do the changes.

See screenshot (it is from AutoCAD 2017, but it is the same in AutoCAD 2018):
