Borrow MPI

Where it is quite clear how I can go to "About" and "License information" to pick a Synergy licence and borrow it. I have not identified where I can do the same for a MPI solver license. What is the recommended procedure to setup a user for a full MPI license package for use during travel.

Hello @Anonymous,

Take a look at this article How to borrow a Moldflow Synergy 2016 licenseLicense borrowing with Synergy network licenses enables you to view and manipulate your model, but not run an analysis. Running an analysis requires a Autodesk Moldflow Insight - Solvers license, for which license borrowing is not an option

Hi Natashal84
So if the solver has to stay inside the corporate network, I assume that the travelling user has to process a task by making a remote connection to the solver machine.
Is there a tool with which the travelling user can test if the current connection will support a remote MPI solver session. I am quite familiar with running a solver task on a different machine, while on the same network. I am looking for hints to do this when travelling. I expect that there can be several hurdles related to firewalls, latency, connection stability and speed, vpn or sstp connections, etc.
If there is no tool, what is then required in terms of connection characteristics?
Best regards
Charles.

Hello @Anonymous,

We do not offer a tool or reference on how to best borrow over anyone of the limitations mentioned. The best thing to do is test the process before hand & try a license borrow under the circumstances that may occur. There is an offline option they would borrow from the network beforehand.

Thank you for returning & let us know how it turned out.
