Autodesk Licensing Service 12.0.0.6529 [Windows]

On December 3, 2021, I downloaded the 12.0.0.6529 version of the Autodesk Licensing Service for Windows.  It was delivered in a ZIP file, and the extracted file shows a Date Modified in the file's Properties, on the Details tab, of 11/16/2021.

Today, I noticed in Autodesk Account, Product Updates, that there is a download released on January 3, 2022, titled Autodesk Licensing Service - 12.0.0.6529 - Win - Update.  This is the exact same build number as the one I downloaded on December 3 of last year.  Unfortunately, this download was not wrapped in a ZIP file, so the date modified is 1/5/2022, the date of the download.  Is this the exact same file as the one I downloaded in December?  If not, why does it have the same build number?  If so, why has it been reposted, and why is the repost not wrapped in a ZIP file, so that the date modified property would not be changed to the download date?

as far as the zip file its possible you downloaded from here: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-licensing-service-downl...

if you used the desktop app it was provided as an exe file

as far as why they reposted no idea they looked to be the same thing

Hi David

Were you able to get this resolved?

I have seen in the past they release an update, pull it, fix something rebundle it and release it (so it could be the same number if so)

However I think now there is a new service released again ...

For Moderators: Curious why this didn't get rerouted / escalated up since it's an EE asking. Generally they get escalated

@mdavis22569

There was no official Autodesk response.  When problems arise, I have been using the later version (if they are different) when doing the inevitable reinstall, but I have not been redoing any of the original release installations.  If I tried to keep everyone up on the latest licensing service, that would be all that I do.

Honestly I haven't been using the newest ones .. I keep using the older ones. Haven't had issues doing this with the License time out etc

version 12.0.0 is no longer offered, or even mentioned -- as if it never existed. Instead the latest version offered by Autodesk has reverted back to 11.1.1.17.

I wonder if they mean for us to abandon any copy of 12 that we've already downloaded, but there appears to be no info on the topic.

I never had a reply other than what is in this thread.  There have been two updates since then, and I have been using the ALS_12-1-0-7121 version in recent fixes.  One thing is certain, the name-user licensing manager software gets broken or at least "lost" on a regular basis.
