AutoCAD home use for educator

I am a Tech Ed educator in a Minnesota school.  We have licensing for AutCAD and Inventor through our network server at school.  I would like to install AutoCAD and Inventor on my home MAC (the school has PC's) to help me prepare for my lessons.  I have found the download page for AutoCAD, but I am hesitating to install because I don't know how to proceed on the license choice.  I am given 3 choices: Personal or Individual Use, School Deploy with Network Server, or School Deploy without Netowrk Server.  I understand how the license distribution works on our school server system, but I don't understand how that would work with my home computer.  We have plenty of licenses at school so I should be able to easily work at home under one of those licenses.  Could I download a Personal Use license and change it later to a network license?

How does Autodesk approve free use for educators?  Do they call, email, etc... the school/educator to confirm?  Does this license exist under the school's license umbrella or does it stay with the educator?  IE: what if I move to another school without a license server? I teach this software in the classroom and would love to be able to prepare my lessons on my home computer.

So basically, my question is how should I proceed with my download and installation for use at home.  What information should I get or give to my IT guys at work?

If this truly works as I think it will, this will be awesome to be able to use and master these products at home instead of spending late hours at work away from my family!

As a reminder, this is a world wide (public) user forum where users are assisting others. In addition do not post, attach screen shots, or share any personal information (such as your serial #) here.

I would suggest one of the following:

1. For your school/educational license I would request home use for your school's serial #.
2. Or request a student version of the application using a different/personal email (other than your school account).

Thank you. To use a school serial#, do i download a trial version and manually enter the serial number? Or will i need the software on my computer to connect to the school network?

No just start here and select your product and create a student account.   From there it will issue you a serial #.   As a reminder do not use this license at the school in any capacity.  Use it at home only.
