Hello,

any chance to get the 1 year educational version without being a student ?  I just discovered this program at a friends place and signed in immediately for the trial version and it really is a fun thing for me to work on cool projects and build things with maya. But unfortunately the trial is over in 4 days and i am not going to go to a university or anything like that. I just learned by looking at Youtube Videos. And now I have looked up the options of continuing the use of maya and the only option for me would be the 1 year educational version. So i just ask if there is a way.  I think i know the answer but maybe there are miracles happening. I would be totally fine with an older version of maya as well if that will be an option too.

Best Regards

Frank

Look into the 'indie' licensing.  It's substantially cheaper than the the normal commercial license.  It's still the full product with somewhat tighter use requirements (read them first).

Quick edit: if you're into the design side more than the animation/rendering, look into Fusion360.
