Hello.  Is there any issues with changing these.  We are upgrading Windows servers to 2019 as 2012.  Will this affect the Flexera LM for our multi-user licensing?

Hello @Jroper

That's great, to algin with current standards Autodesk Identity Services will move to Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 and stop supporting TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 on August 3, 2019, to meet security and data integrity demands.

You can make the move to the new server, the Network License Manager is supported on a Windows Server 2019 (64-bit) you can review the NLM requirements for further information.

You will need to run through the steps below to get this set up on the new server.

A license file first needs to be generated or requested here:

  1. Generate a Network License File in your Autodesk Account or Requesting a Network License File

Note: In the case where you have combined the license with an existing license file (make sure to check for copy/paste errors)

*If you need help Finding Your Host Name and Physical Address

Then, the NLM needs to be installed and setup:

  1. Make sure you meet the NLM requirements to Install & Configure it
  2. Review the installation methods & activation steps

You may specify a NLM using one of the options below during installation:

  • Standard Installation set up -  at launch, specify a License Server "2080@ServerName"
  • Product Deployment set up - during deployment creation you entered the server information

That’s a great move towards strengthening security! Enforcing TLS 1.2 and disabling outdated cipher suites like 3DES helps reduce vulnerabilities significantly. For anyone working with subnetting and secure network configurations, this VLSM Calculator Online can assist in precise address planning. Keeping tools and protocols up-to-date is key to maintaining robust infrastructure.
