Possibly after Windows 10 update, I received the following message:

acad.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point _crtCreateSymbolicLinkW could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP110.dll

(I'm retired and I'm using an Autodesk Education Community 3 year term product)

Hello chucktaylor1 and welcome to the Autodesk community!

If you’re having trouble with the activation email, please note that sometimes the email can be accidentally routed to your spam or junk folder. Please check there.

Also, please note that you should be able to access your download and activation information by logging into Autodesk Accounts.

If you cannot access software in your account and need to download it now, please go to the Virtual Agent.

If none of those items helped, please submit a support request as follows:

Students should request to have the confirmation email resent via this form.

Hello @Anonymous,

You can try to repair the Microsoft Visual C++'s to see if it resolves it,  Error: "The program can't start because MSVCR110.dll is missing from your computer." when using Autodesk products.

If you are still encountering a problem during your install try to conduct the following to start fresh:

  1. Conduct a Clean Uninstall of the application & use the MSfixitTool to complete it
  2. Reboot the computer & log in as Administrator
  3. Clean out the TEMP folder. To open the TEMP folder, type %TEMP% in the address bar of Windows Start Menu and hit Enter (Windows)
  4. Temporarily disable security settings like Antivirus, Firewall & UAC on your Windows operating system
  5. Use the Browser Download Method in your Autodesk Account or via the AVA | Autodesk Virtual Agent (download all the parts)

Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Please “Accept As Solution” if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

I am retired.  72 years old.  I have a 3 year term Autodesk Education Community program AutoCAD Architecture 2016.  I use it to keep "in shape" and tinker with plans of my house.

Based on your response you are violated the terms of a free educational license.  You must be attending a qualified educational institution.  At this time you must stop using the product and remove it from your system (or run the risk of being fined by Autodesk).

Hello @Anonymous,

This is correct. You need to review the, Who is Eligible for Free Educational Licenses before signing up & the Educational Special Terms to determine if you qualify.

Please “Accept As Solution” if a reply or replies have helped resolve the issue or answered your question, to help others in the community.

Sorry to hear this. This was downloaded from studentcommunity@autodesk with clear understanding of my status as retired wanting to keep sharp on autocad.
I have all the proper serial number, product key, activation code. I will contact autodesk education community.

Hello @Anonymous,

You should review the terms if you are not enrolled as a student or you are not an educator, you are validating the usage terms.

Just because you have a serial #, product key and/or activation codes for free student license doesn't mean you meet the requirements.  Did someone tell you that it was OK as a retired individual to request it?  If so were they from the Autodesk Educational Team?

In the end user license agreement you accepted, item #34 clearly states:

I will say again, in conclusion.
I have in my file all my correspondence with Autodesk Assistance Program, Assistance Registration, Activation...
I clearly stated my position, as I already stated.
I do not know who or why they considered me a learner or student, but they did.
I am not in business and sell my services.
Nevertheless, the program will not load, so I will contact Autodesk Education Community for my solution.
I’m thinking my best option would be to purchase a program.
I’ll accept as solution.
