3ds Max 2016

Hello,

I would like to install 3ds Max 2016 since that is the only one that will work with my other programs. Is it still possible to download 3ds Max 2016?

No that was discontinued most programs you can import into 3ds max, what programs are you trying to use ?

GIMS Evo is the program I need to be installed. Wont work on any newer version than 2016.

did you try this tutorial it's for 2018 and it should work the same in all newer verison of 3ds max

Yes, this is what I tried and I get a compile error. I searched the issue and doesnt work on the newer versions of 3ds Max.

If you cannot get the script to work then you cannot do anything about it, unless you contact the person who made the script and see if they have an updated version. the script will usally have a screen name who made it, and you can contact him through the community you got it from or his/her website if available

I have encountered the same issue, It is an aberration, I am paying premium license and I can not download the 2016 version 4K a year

same here, They just discontinued it. seems like they don't know their clients as well as they should.

Hi @SolidSupportCAD,

Your license only grants you the current version (2022) and 5 years back (2021,2020,2019,2018,2017) but 2016 has been long out of support as the 5-year change is fairly recent. It used to be the current version + 3 years.

Given that this thread is also more than a year old, is there not a newer version of the plugin or an alternative that would work with the 6 versions listed above?

Nah, mate, you can only download until 2019.

I do know educational licenses weren't affected by this change, so you're out of dice with this one if you have an educational license.

How odd, I am paying 4k a year for a licence, but Students get access to more resources for free!? LOL
Also, 3Dsmax 2022 needs to have capabilities removed?
This guys are as lost as Adam and Eve in mother's day.

Students only get access to 3 years of licenses, not 5 - I should have made that clearer.

If you have feedback use the 3DS Max Idea Station.

Solutions are in context of the forum, not whether something functions/is available or not.  For example, if someone asks for 3DSMAX that runs natively on the current Mac OS, an answer of "That doesn't exist." would be marked as a solution because the answer is the correct one.  The lack of existence of what the poster asked for would not preclude it from being marked as such.

No one is asking here for 3ds max to run on a phone or on a toaster's OS.
