It is necessary to add a tool to create a road tunnel "Component Roads". "Component Roads" very convenient. But without a road of "tunnel" can not always be applied.
@ara.ashikian what's the status on this? I have a project I'd like to use corridor optimization on in mountainous terrain but the tool can't create tunnels anymore due to the lack of a tunnel component in component roads (and I can't use design roads anymore).
This is conceptual and I don't need a parametric, fully designed tunnel, just something basic for visual purposes. In the meantime, can we have an option to continue using design roads for corridor optimization?
As of the latest release of InfraWorks (2019), earlier this week, parametric tunnels can be modeled! In order to place a tunnel, select a component road and then, from the right click context menu, chose the Add Structure/Tunnel option and place it along the road as you would place a bridge. You can then select the tunnel and change it's shape or parameters. You can also create new parametric tunnel sections using Inventor and add these to the catalog via InfraWorks' Style palette workflow.
As of the latest release of InfraWorks, corridor optimization works with component roads.
@alexey.kurenkov @Anonymous Thanks for the idea. With exciting corridor workflow released recently in IW 21.0 and 21.1 along with other developments, it seems this can be performed. Let me close this idea and we can communicate even open another idea moving forward.
