The new function Component Display emerged in Infraworks 2018.2 ,has the following limitations:
(1) for a bridge , users can't hide a specific one of the girders or piers,nor could road components be shown by sections. All the same type of components are displayed or hidden together. Therefore, users have no easy way to build scenarios for bridge and highway reconstruction.
(2) the function is effective only when the structure is chosen. If the bridge is not chosen, all hidden components will come back again. Therefore, users have no way to use this function under a scene roaming state, nor could users export the scene with hidden components in a video.
Actually there is a big demand for BIM in highway reconstruction projects during the next decade.
