Currently Grading is set along the complete baseline on Design or Component Roads. I would like to be able to set Grading Zones with a beginning and ending station, just like the Components themselves. Maybe a good idea is also to set Grading Zone Transitions in which you can define a distance for the adjusting slopes.
I agree with John that this would be a high value addition to IW. It is a function I am sorely missing currently and is a current handbrake to using IW on many of my projects. In addition to Johns request I would like to add here a related grading option. This is to be able to define benching along the road in cut areas. Benching parameters should be able to be set for each bench (i.e. bench1width, bench1height, bench2width, bench2height). This is because each bench is often based on the depth of geological strata that exists at part of the roadway or the need to obtain extra cut for the project. It may be easier to load in a c3d corridor where this has been modelled using a benching assembly but having the benching tool available in IW will fit with where the product is heading (e.g. recent addition of land area grading).
